Hello, I’m Amy, the maker behind Indie Ink Apparel. If you’ve ever seen my studio, you’ll know it’s usually full of stacks of blank t-shirts, sketchbooks and full of the smell of inks and emulsions!

I’ve always loved those pieces of clothing in your wardrobe that mean something or have a story behind them. In a world of fast fashion, filled with fleeting trends, I wanted to create something different.

I love to hear about people’s connections with their hometowns and local areas, whether it’s the old town of Hull or the rolling hills of the North York Moors. I grew up in Hull, and after returning when I was a teenager, I had a newfound appreciation for my hometown.

Whilst working on Indie Ink and travelling, I noticed a gap. Most souvenirs are mass produced, low quality and destined to build dust. My mission with Indie Ink is to bridge that gap with unique apparel. I want to create graphic t-shirts that represent the place you love, but are designed to be your favourite item in your wardrobe.

Our slow process

Everything at Indie Ink is done by hand, from the whole punched clothing tags to the hand drawn designs. Our t-shirts are made with heavyweight cotton, our screens are exposed using sunlight, and every squeegee is hand pulled.

By printing our apparel to order and focusing on durable tees, I can create quality prints I’m proud of. When you buy a piece from Indie Ink, you aren't just buying a tee, you’re supporting a slow, mindful process that respects both the craft and the planet.

The road ahead...

As many of you know, I’ve made the big decision to pause sales to the summer. I’m taking this time to travel, research, and sketch the next chapter of Indie Ink.

I want to spend a long time perfecting the new collection, ensuring every line of every landmark I draw is worthy of being in your wardrobe for years to come!

I’m so grateful to have you on this journey with me and thank you for supporting an independent maker.
